The production co-operative of Asvestochori town "Kypseli" was established in 1964 and it was the result of the merger of four cooperatives with activities in the extraction of aggregates. The cooperatives that participated in the merger were:

Elpis
Doksa
Anatoli
Iraklis

Ο The cooperative that came from the merger employed one hundred and thirty five quarriers - partners.

Kypseli Co-op followed an upward course and apart from the production of aggregates it expanded to the production of lime and lime-pulp.

The first lime production unit was made in 1977 and the second followed in 1980.

In 1989 the company expanded its activities to the production of lime-pulp creating a modern unit. In particular, in 1994 the company merged with the production cooperative “Lato” Co-op. In 1995 Kypseli proceeded to yet another grand investment in Vafeiochori village in Kilkis Prefecture, where it constructed a large state-of-the-art aggregate production unit.

Kypseli Co-op employs sixty-two people who are members and employees of the cooperative at the same time and sixteen workers - quarriers non-members.

Kypseli Co-op makes all its products, aggregates, lime and lime pulp using its large and special equipment (70 production machines, fifteen automobiles of more than eight hundred million drachmas' worth).
